Tech

The Va Tech murderer is from my hometown. My brother's age. Very strange seeing familiar streets and places on the news as the media interviews neighbors; etc. Yuck.

Oh Ashlee, I'm so sorry that the pain of this is so literally close to home. Does it help to just turn off the news for a while and turn to things that will bring you peace or do you feel better having the stream of information so you can process it and move on? Maybe I'm an ostrich, but I just have to turn it off at a certain point and open the scriptures or read a conference talk or look at my photo albums or something. You and your hometown will sure be in my prayers.

I saw his parents townhome on the news and it looked just like any townhome community around here and it just struck me so hard. I'm sorry it has to be even closer to home for you. Who would ever think that someone so maniacle could live among us...

I had to stop listening. I bet it's hard for you to wrap your head around. I'll be thinking of you.

kellie--i actually haven't watched/heard much of the coverage. in a past life i would have been glued to CNN. but with the boys, i don't like that kind of TV on. i just wanted to find out who the gunman was and who the victims were (ugh). i do have a mind that tends to go constantly but it's not eating me up too badly. i just felt a need to write it down, for some reason. maybe to process? very good advice, though. thank you. i need to seek peace more often! and certainly open my scriptures more often as well! ;) thank you again.
