So it's that time of year again. Halloween is lurking. Everyone know what their kids want to dress up as? I'm excited to be able to reuse Bode's first Halloween--a rockin' elephant. Yes, Bode was 9 months old his first Halloween. And the costume fits Keegs perfectly at 18 months. Go figure. As for the Bodester, well, he's not a huge fan of dress-up. But he says he'd like to be a firefighter. So i'm trying to figure that one out without breaking the bank, but also so it doesn't look too cheap. Know what i mean?
And the Halloween Phantom is haunting our neighborhood. Does everyone else have this tradition? The "You've Been Boo'ed" tradition? Secretly leaving treats at your neighbors' door with a note for them to do the same. They then put a ghost in their window so others can see that the Phantom has already visited them and hopefully by Halloween little paper ghosts are in most of your neighbors windows. Thus spreading neighborly cheer and the Halloween spirit (ok, a stretch, but neighborly cheer for sure).
What are your Halloween traditions?

We do the "Spooked" in cohousing also! It is so much fun. I wonder if I should start it this year...
And I have dress-up fireman jacket and hat if you are interested in borrowing them. The jacket is vinyl and the hat is plastic, so it isn't anything fancy.
Halloween Phantom already? I can't believe it is already that time of year! I love it though. We haven't gotten the fall weather yet, so it still feels like summer. Today it was 94!! I wish it would get a little cooler!
Anyway, halloween traditions... hmmm... trick or treating? Does that count? Oh, and getting sick, just too much chocolate! (:
We've haven't been "boo"ed yet by the Halloween phantom, but I love that tradition!
As far as our traditions, ever since Sophie was little we've had a Halloween portrait taken every year in the costumes and we have chili and hot dogs for dinner before the trick or treating. I just love Halloween!!
i've never heard of that! (but i have seen the "YOU'VE BEEN BOO'D" stuff at target... what a fun idea. maybe i'll have to start the tradition here...........
We were just discussing this at book club the other night!! We were trying to get Mendy to start it up this year because we fear the original ward "boo-er" has moved away :)
Um, my tradition is usually TRYING to get Ethan to dress up, TRYING to figure out some sort of cool costume for me and Jake, and planning the trunk or treat. That's the big one.
So fun...last year was the first year we got Boo'ed and I thought it was so cute. I'm glad to be reminded of the idea so I can get to it.
