New Moon
OK. I'm 350-some pages into New Moon. It took a good 200 pages for me to get interested in it. I felt like I was plodding along. I mean, seriously, where's the romance? Where's the intimacy? Who needs all this angst? (I guess it is a "young adult" novel). And most importantly, where the hell is EDWARD?????

Ha! Exactly what I thought - where's Edward?? He's the whole reason I'm reading this book, so where the heck is he??! All I can say is keep going... :)
I was going to comment on your other entry, but since you have another one about these books... I was asking my 12 yr old babysitter yesterday what she wanted to be for Halloween, and she wants to be the main female character in thes books. So funny that I had never heard of the series until you blogged about it and now it keeps popping up.
The babysitter is re-reading the first one and then is going to loan it to me. Can you babysit my kids for a few days while I read it? *wink*
ha! Yes, many a-person's issue with this one.
350 pages?! is this a harry potter length young adult book?! .... tell me if they end up being good (all of them. together.)! (hope you find edward)
Yes, VERY good questions!!
If you become slightly obsessive like me, you will discover a Q&A about New Moon on Meyer's web site that explains a bit about why Edward disappeared. I think I agree with the plot that he HAD to go for a little bit, but it makes New Moon a drag and I'm glad I didn't have to wait a whole year for Eclipse. I guess you liked Twilight if you moved on to the sequel!
erin--they are long. 500-600 pages maybe? but quick reads because they're sooo good (minus the problem i had with new moon). you know that if I'm already onto the third book so fast that i'm liking them!
joni--agreed. he had to leave. but it sure made for some loooong chapters! i'll have to check out the q&a now that i'm done with new moon.
and to my husband and family--i promise i'll be back soon! i know you miss me now that my nose is constantly in one book or another, but as soon as i finish eclipse, i'll be back!
Ashlee,
Stephanie Meyers is from AZ so my mom and I went and saw her speak. Totally worth going. It was really interesting and we found out she based her Jacob character on someone we know. I haven't read eclipse yet but I can't wait.
I'm glad you're enjoying them. I have not started Eclipse yet, but I will soon.
